Job Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee our organization's ongoing operations and procedures within the livestock industry. You will be responsible for the efficiency of the business, which includes maintaining control of diverse business operations, so we expect you to be an experienced and efficient leader with excellent people skills, business acumen, and exemplary work ethics. Responsibilities and Duties:
Design and implement business strategies, plans, and procedures
Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth
Establish policies that promote company culture and vision
Forster a reputable image to external stakeholders and clients
Oversee daily operations of the company and the work of executives (IT, Marketing, Sales, Finance etc.)
Increase in livestock yield per unit
Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication
Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
Reduction in operational costs while maintaining or improving efficiency
Write and submit reports to the CEO in all matters of importance
Assist CEO in fundraising ventures
Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances etc.)
Manage relationships with partners/vendors
Qualifications:
Proven experience as Chief Operating Office or relevant role within the livestock industry
Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and MS Office
Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
Experience:
Previous experience successfully managing a complex enterprise's operations within the livestock sector is essential.
Proven experience 15+ years in a senior management role within the livestock or agricultural industry
Experience working in a senior management role for a minimum of .
Proven experience in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.
Regular office hours with frequent farm visits and inspections.
Some travel may be required for business meetings, conferences, and industry-related events.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to visit various farm environments and handle walking on uneven terrain.
Ability to handle the stress of dealing with emergencies and critical decisions.
