You will be responsible for assisting customers in finding and purchasing the required merchandise in a retail environment. To succeed in this role, you should have a positive attitude and a desire to work cooperatively with the team to achieve sales goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers as they enter the store and provide them with information about products and/or services
- Respond to customers’ questions and guide them throughout the store
- Maintain knowledge about the store's products, promotions, and sales to provide accurate information to customers
- Operate cash registers, manage financial transactions, and balance drawers
- Ensure that all displays are visually appealing and organized
- Restock shelves when necessary to ensure product availability
- Participate in inventory control and ensure that any shrinkage is minimized
- Handle product returns and exchanges in accordance with store policies
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the store, especially in areas like the checkout counter and displays
- Meet or exceed sales targets by utilizing effective selling techniques
- Collaborate with team members to keep the sales floor area clean and organized at all times
- Follow all store operational policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous similar experience is mandatory
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well within a team setting or independently
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple customers simultaneously
- Basic math skills for handling cash and inventory
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift
