The Role
Work toward Company Ship Services' vision, purpose, and strategic goals and create a business plan to increase revenue, profitability, and growth.
Create, analyze, and implement Company Ship Services' annual operational plans and budgets.
Develop and evaluate initiatives to guarantee Company Ship Services' long-term financial viability. monitor and boost sales and income
Develop and maintain equitable Company Ship Services personnel policies that comply with corporate and industry standards.
Submit yearly plans and reports for approval.
Create performance metrics and update its balanced scorecard for financials, customers, business processes, and learning and growth.
Find company development prospects in new markets, services, products, partnerships, and acquisitions.
As needed, report and present company performance and financial results to Company's Chairman, Executive Committee, Board of Directors,
Effective performance management, communication, and coaching programs create and maintain a high-performance culture.
Build and sustain strategic connections with partners, shareholders, customers, suppliers, contractors, government agencies, and local communities.
Manage, supervise, and assure resource, operational activity, and output allocation to Company strategies and objectives.
Complete financial and non-financial reporting on schedule and regularly.
Follow workplace systems, processes, and procedures to meet legal, regulatory, and other standards.
Regularly assess risk variables and ensure they are under control.
Annual anticipated budgets should be prepared with the Finance Department and other pertinent departments.
Meet with subordinates often to guarantee smooth operations and track project and program progress.
Manage freight import and export manifest and B/L documents and extended customer care.
Keep track of agency cargo movement, vessel calls, and key shippers and receivers to help the organization extend its services to existing and new clients.
Ensure agency vessel berthing/un-berthing, discharging/loading supervision, and customs clearance/immigration are efficient.
Develop effective container services, monitoring and managing agency container inward and outward movement, and arranging and back loading containers per liner directions.
Directly issue delivery orders for all Company Agency vessel consignments arriving at Mesaieed and Ras Laffan to collect freight and other costs and report to accounting and liners.
Develop processes to efficiently handle claims, P&I services to representative clubs, investigation, and surveys. Help with shipping claims and P&I.
Ensure management decisions and directives reach all employees smoothly.
Negotiate and manage Shipping Agencies services, consultants, clients, and programs.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Marketing, Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field
10-15 years’ experience in ship services of which at least 10 years in senior management/leadership positions
Good knowledge of MS Office and web applications
Business fluent English is a must
Overall knowledge of the transport industry, maritime and logistics
