Category Manager

Our client is looking for a category manager  with energy, heavy industry professional background.
 
The Role
Manager of a structure of procurement specialists for staff development, KPI management, succession planning, etc. Provide 
Follow the company-wide procurement strategy to optimize the given category(s). 

Create and implement multi-year category strategy to boost company value. Align the program with strategic corporate goals, convey the plan to stakeholders, collect input, and develop strategic initiatives.

Strategic procurement procedures include supplier portfolio management, market analytics, RfX & sourcing of generally bigger value orders, supplier selection, buy order development & placement, PO follow-up, and issue management.

If required, provide category or individual sourcing strategy to the Tender Committee or leadership.

Track the worldwide supplier market for your category. Analyze trends, delivery systems, and markets to plan material and service availability. Do market evaluations, cost models, benchmarking, and TCO analysis. Analyze demand cycles, maximize purchasing power, maintain datasets, and give worldwide market knowledge. Analytics may track purchase quantities, consumption patterns, inventory levels, expenses, pooling potential, cost-saving prospects, and areas for improvement.
Maintain critical supplier connections and conduct performance reviews. 

Manage category-specific escalations to resolve or escalate all issues.

Establish optimization activities (standardization, bundling, supplier concentration) and promote make-or-buy decisions.

Determine, assess, and manage category risks (e.g., delivery dates, capacities, material exchange rates/prices) and design risk management strategies.
Collect stakeholder input on procurement operations and develop strategic initiatives.

Work with internal stakeholders to identify and consolidate procurement requirements, advise on suitable alternatives, coordinate with departments to identify professional services needs, record and consolidate requirements, and translate internal customer requirements into purchase orders for timely procurement of materials, products, and services.

Evaluate bids by correctly transferring information and documents to the commercial assessment sheet/Fusion. Read and analyze tender papers and contracts to follow organizational rules.

Administration, development, and negotiation of contracts

Manage supplier negotiations to find cost-effective products and services, negotiate advantageous terms and conditions, benchmark costs and quality, monitor contract expirations, and start renewals. Implement negotiating strategy, work with internal stakeholders, legal, and tender committee, and manage contracts across procurement categories.

Requirements 

Bachelor of Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent needed.
Accredited procurement/supply chain accreditation is best.
10+ years of procurement and supply chain management experience as a category manager or comparable function.
Minimum 5 years in a MNC
MS Office proficient (Word/Excel/Powerpoint, Project, Visio)
Oracle Fusion favored
English must be fluent
Proficient in local and international procurement regulations and processes.
Skills in supplier development and negotiating.
Experience in pre- and post-commercial contract administration and management Analytical Thinking—Easily solves complicated problems.
